The standard we aim for
We target Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA for funwithlearning.net. That is the level most widely referenced by schools, libraries and public bodies, and it is the bar we measure this site against.
What we actually do
- Automated testing. We test pages with axe-core against the WCAG 2.0 A/AA and WCAG 2.1 A/AA rule sets, and we fix what it reports. At our most recent full pass, every public page returned zero axe-core violations.
- Colour contrast. Body text, headings and interactive elements are checked against the 4.5:1 (and 3:1 for large text) contrast minimums. We have changed brand colours specifically to meet this.
- Keyboard access. The site is navigable by keyboard, with a visible focus indicator and a "Skip to main content" link. Horizontally scrolling regions are reachable and focusable.
- Structure and semantics. Pages use real headings in order, landmark regions, descriptive link text, labelled form fields, and alternative text on meaningful images. Decorative images are hidden from assistive technology.
- Zoom and reflow. Layouts use relative units and reflow for small screens and for zoom up to 200% without loss of content.
What we do not claim
We are being straight with you: automated testing alone is not full conformance. Tools like axe-core reliably catch only a portion of possible accessibility problems. We have not commissioned a third-party audit or a formal VPAT, and we have not completed a full manual screen-reader review of every page. So we describe this site as working toward WCAG 2.1 AA, not as certified against it.
Some third-party content we embed — such as an Instagram feed — is outside our direct control, and we cannot guarantee its accessibility.
This statement covers the website. The Fun With Learning mobile app is a separate product with its own design constraints, and is not covered here.
